Case Studies
Many different kinds of companies use Weave the People to make their meetings more effective, arrive at important decisions to move their companies forward and grow revenue:
Creating a Shared Vision Post-Merger
Situation
A travel-management company and a meeting/incentives company merged to create a global travel firm. Upon the merger, executives decided to meet with their newly created leadership team, members of which represented the two legacy companies. The goal of the meeting was to introduce leaders to one another and create a shared vision.
Result
Weave the People created a weave that enabled participants to share information on their areas of strength and expertise, ranging from “travel in Africa” to “group air travel”. In addition, the weave grouped people according to communication preferences, including do’s and don’ts when emailing, and personality traits, such as introvert and extrovert, and motivating vs. directing.
This company is a repeat customer: Other weaves have clarified what is important to the firm’s meeting planners, from “challenges of tracking meeting spend” to “customer loyalty programs.” This information exchange has demystified colleagues and created a spirit of teamwork, ultimately helping to set one, unified corporate agenda.
“There is no doubt in my mind that Weave The People helped us have the most successful meeting possible
because people were energized and informed on each others’ passions even before the meeting began.”
Scott Graf - President, BCD Meetings and Incentives
Weave Supports Work Life Balance
Situation
A national law firm based in Chicago created a women’s leadership group. The members of the group were inspired by Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, who once said, “We don’t accomplish anything in this world alone…whatever happens is the result of the whole tapestry of one’s life and all the weaving of individual threads from one to another that creates something.”
Result
Weave the People created a weave that mapped women according to law school, areas of practice, and tips for balancing work and life. The visual display helped the women in the group define their roles and responsibilities, solve problems and explore their potential.
Becoming your Best Leader
Situation
A global restaurant company, a repeat customer, hosted a leadership institute for international executives. Each person was challenged to identify “what it takes to become your best leader.”
Result
Weave The People helped the international group of executives embark on deep conversations by creating ice breakers. The weave showcased each person's individual interests, which served as details to "get people talking." Additionally, Weave The People's visual display of meeting attendees fostered conversations on strategic imperatives such as “elevating the talents of people.” Likewise, the weave grouped executives into areas in which they could coach each other, from finance to business development. As a result, participants were able to return to their home countries with a set of global best practices for running their businesses.
Empowerment Through Small Group Coaching
Situation
Solomon Group LLC is a professional group designed to empower African-American businesspeople and entertainers. Solomon focuses on personal branding, the fostering of emotional intelligence and networking.
Result
Weave the People identified what individual members wanted from the group and how they could help others. Based on these insights, the weave identified three-person groups for intensive and concerted coaching. These small groups continue to meet on a regular basis to develop each person’s leadership skills, contacts and talents.
Helping Entrepreneurs Thrive
Situation
The Big Ooga™ is a quickly evolving community of accomplished entrepreneurs, professionals and small-business owners who, instead of accepting the current economy, are devoted to rebuilding it. As such, building personal and professional connections is a must.
Result
Weave the People builds weaves for the Big Ooga’s monthly meetings, attended by close to 100 people centered on developing business connections and revenue. The visual display of Big Ooga members helps meeting attendees identify whom they want to meet before each event occurs. This maximizes people’s time at the meetings, and strengthens the likelihood of getting freelance and contract assignments.
